KEAM : Self Finance Engg seats/Fees notified
June 12,2014: Government have issued orders related to the terms and conditions ofadmissions and fees to the Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges coming under the Kerala Self Financing Engineering College Managements Association (KSFECMA) and Kerala Catholic Engineering College Managements Association (KCECMA) for 2014-15 admissions.
Government Seats: As per the GO dated 7.6.2014 in respect of 12 colleges under the Kerala Catholic Engineering College Managements Association (KCECMA) and GO dated 10.6.2014 in respect of the 100 colleges under Kerala Self Financing Engineering College Managements Association (KSFECMA), both issued by the Higher Education Department, 50% of the seats in all the colleges would be filled by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE). The remaining 50% would be filled by the Managements concerned with 35% as Management seats and 15% as NRI seats.
Management seats: The 35% Management seats would be filled on the basis of the merit list prepared based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination in the core subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and marks obtained in the entrance examination or on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination whose names are included in the entrance rank list or from the Pre- Normalization list.
NRI Seats: Qualified students who are dependents of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) can be admitted by the Management under 15% NRI quota seats. These students can be admitted based on their academic eligibility and they are exempted from qualifying in any entrance test.
Community/ Registered Society/Registered Trust Quota in Govt seats: In the Colleges under the Kerala Catholic Engineering College Managements Association (KCECMA), CEE will allot 10% of the total seats (6 out of 60) from among the students belonging to the community to which the educational agency belongs, on the basis of merit. In case of Colleges belonging to Latin Catholic Community this shall be 15% (9 out of 60).
In Colleges under Kerala Self Financing Engineering College Managements Association (KSFECMA), out of the 50% Government seats, 15% of the total seats shall be filled by the CEE from among the students belonging to the Community/Registered Society/Registered Trust to which, the educational agency belongs.
Fee Structure: In respect of the 12 colleges coming under the Kerala Catholic Engineering College Managements Association (KCECMA), the fee payable by all the students including NRI students would be Rs.75000/- per annum. All students other than those allotted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations who belong to SC/ST/OEC or Fishermen Community will have to make an interest-free deposit of Rs.1,00,000/- . NRI candidates are exempted from the Interest-free deposit of Rs.1,00,000/-. However they have to pay a sum as fixed by the admitting college and not exceeding US$8000, at the time of admission.
In the 100 colleges under Kerala Self Financing Engineering College Managements Association (KSFECMA), in every batch of 60 students, 30 seats (50%) would be allotted as Government seats by the CEE. In 25% seats (15), the annual fee would be Rs.50,000/- for lower income group students while for other 25% (15 seats), it would be Rs.75000/- which includes a yearly special fee of Rs.25000/-.
All Students allotted by CEE in these 112 colleges will have to remit Rs.10000/- at a branch of the notified Bank and the rest of the tuition fee, special fee and other applicable fee directly in the college at the time of admission.
Caution Deposit: All students will have to pay a Caution Deposit of Rs.10,000/- while taking admission in the college. Other amounts as prescribed in the Govt Orders will also have to be paid. Commission for Entrance Examinations will complete all the allotments to the Government Seats in these colleges by 20th July, 2014.
Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme: Allotments under the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme of AICTE to the 5% of the total seats sanctioned as supernumerary seats, would be amide in the first round of allotment.
