Applications have been invited for the unified single window admission for first year B. E. / B. Tech. Degree Courses to the University Departments / University Colleges, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges and for the seats surrendered by the Self – Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu.
1. In Person : Candidates can obtain the application form in person from the centres detailed below by paying 500/-( 250/for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, on production of a photocopy of the Permanent Community Card) towards application fee, by cash/demand draft.
2. By Post : Application forms can also be obtained by post from The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), Anna University, Chennai – 600 025 by sending a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for 700/-(` 450/-for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu with a photocopy of the Permanent Community Card) and an address label written in capital letters to which the application form is to be mailed.
3. Through Website : The candidates can also register through internet by logging on towww.annauniv.edu/tnea2013. The procedure for registration is available in the website.
4. All Demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions” payable at Chennai, drawn on any Nationalised Bank dated on or after 03.05.2013. Candidates are instructed to write the name and address on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.

Indian Institute of Space Science Technology, an autonomous body under the Department of Space and set up with the primary objective of generating high quality human resources to meet the requirements of Department of Space (DOS) /Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and located at Valiamalai, Thiruvananthapuram, has announced the admission to the B Tech Programmes offered at the Institute.
The three B.Tech Programmes offered at the Institute are in Aerospace Engineering (60 seats), Avionics (60 seats) and Physical Sciences (36 seats). Applicant should be Indian citizens. Applicant belonging to GEN and OBC (NCL) categories should have been born on or after October 1, 1988 while those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories should have been born on or after October 1, 1983.
Applicant should qualify in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main)–2013 conducted by CBSE, to appear for the IIT-JEE(Advanced)-2013 and score the prescribed minimum category-wise marks in JEE(Advanced)-2013 to be eligible for admission to the IIST.
The minimum prescribed marks in JEE Advanced for General Candidatesis 5% marks in each of the three subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 20% marks in aggregate. OBC (NCL) Candidates should score at least 90% of the marks prescribed for General Candidates while SC, ST & PD Candidates have to score at least 50% ofthe marks prescribed for General Candidates for JEE(Advanced)-2013.
The marks secured by the candidate in JEE(Advanced)-2013 examination will be used only for deciding his/her eligibility for admission, and will not be considered for preparing the rank list for admission to IIST.
Admission to Undergraduate Programmes (B.Tech) for the year 2013 will be based on the All India Rank List (including category rank list) to be prepared and published for the year 2013 by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) based on JEE (Main). This rank list is prepared by giving 60% weightage for the score in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE(Main)-2013, and 40% for the normalized score in Class 12thor other qualifying examinations.
A candidate not meeting the minimum eligibility criteria of JEE (Advanced) will not be considered for admission to B.Tech programme of IIST even if his/her name appears in the JEE (Main)-2013 rank list.
Online registration of application for admission to IIST will commence at www.iist.ac.inon17th May 2013 and end on 8th July 2013. Detailed information and IIST Admission Brochure will be published at http://www.iist.ac.in/admission/ by 30th April, 2013.

Seats are reserved based on relaxed criteria, for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes,Other Backward Castes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) and Physically Disabled (PD) categories as per rules of Government of India.
B.Tech. Programme in Aerospace Engineering,is a programme oriented towards the needs of space technology and has significant overlap with Mechanical Engineering including Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Sciences and Space Dynamics. Those with B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering can further specialize in Flight Mechanics, Aerodynamics, Thermal and Propulsion, Structure and Design, and Manufacturing Science.
B.Tech. (Avionics) Degree programme comprises of subjects of study in Electronics and Communications Engineering programmes, in addition to study of Advanced Electronics in Digital Communication, Control Systems and Computer Systems used in Aerospace Systems. Those with B.Tech Degree in Avionics can later specialize in areas like DSP, RF & Communication, Antenna, Power Electronics, Micro Electronics, Control Systems etc.
B.Tech (Physical Sciences) is a 4-year Programme oriented towards application of basic sciences in Space Science and Technology. The programme lays a strong foundation in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and gives exposure to important applications of space technology such as Remote Sensing and GIS, Astronomy and Astrophysics and Earth System Sciences. People with B.Tech Degree in Physical Sciences can later specialize in areas like Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences, Solid Earth Science, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Remote Sensing & GIS, and Chemical Systems.

The full assistantship per semester for tuition fees, hostel accommodation and boarding etc will be borne by the IIST for each student subject to his/her meeting the performance standards set up by IIST from time to time.
On successful completion of the UG Programme in IIST, students meeting the specified standards set up by IIST, may be absorbed in DOS/ISRO as Scientist/Engineer as per recruitment norms of DOS/ISRO centres for IIST Graduates.

PhD (Psychology) at Calcutta Uty

Applications are invited by Department of Psychology, University of Calcutta (Rajabazar Science College, 92, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Road, Kolkata – 700009) for admission to PhD course and subsequent research work for obtaining the PhD degree in Psychology. 

Candidates who wish to pursue research work in the Department should apply in the prescribed application form (obtainable from the Department of Psychology) by paying Rs. 100.00 through a challan (obtainable from Cash Counter in Raja bazaar Science College Campus and College Street Campus). 

Duly filled application form must reach the office of the Head of the Department within 17th May, 2013.

The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written examination of 2 hours, to be held in the Department on the 4th June, 2013 (11.00 am to 1.00 pm). The syllabus of this examination is the UGC NET (Paper II and III) on Psychology and existing syllabus of MA / MSc in Psychology, University of Calcutta. The results of the written test will be published on 5th June, 2013 (After 1.00 pm). The successful candidates will be called for an interview on 6th June, 2013 (After 12 o’clock). The candidates selected on the basis of interview will be considered as Probationary PhD student of this department.

At present nine (9) students will be taken. Those candidates who have already passed UGC (JRF) examination / NET / SET / SLET / Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations or passed the MPhil in Psychology or equivalent examinations need not appear for the written examination. Such candidates can directly appear for the interview but they need to submit their application forms for admission within stipulated date i.e.17th May, 2013.

Eligibility Criteria:
For Integrated MPhil and PhD Programmes:
The minimum academic qualification for admission to the MPhil programme is a Second Class Master’s or equivalent degree in the relevant subject awarded by a recognised university in India or abroad, with at least an average of 55 per cent of aggregate marks, or a grade point average of 3.5 under the seven-point grade system of the University Grants Commission (UGC), India. In the case of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, the minimum eligibility is an average of 50 per cent of aggregate marks, or a grade point average of 3.05.

For Direct PhD Programmes:
Those who have an MPhil or equivalent degree awarded by a recognised university in India or abroad;

For Exe. PG Diploma:
Candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree (Mandatory requirements - 15years formal education), in any discipline of a recognized University, with 50% of marks (40% for Scheduled Castes [SCs], Scheduled Tribes[STs] and OBS.
Or a Post Graduate degree (Mandatory requirements - 15years formal education), in any discipline and at least three years of work experience after graduation in managerial or supervisory category, preferably in personal / administration department.
Age under 40 years as on June 1, 2013. However, in special cases, this limit may be relaxed.

Cash Deposit in any SBI Branch using the prescribed challan: Rs. 1,000 + Bank Charges.
The DD has to be drawn in favour of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, payable at Hyderabad.

Fill it and submit to TISS. Submission of a research proposal is a compulsory requirement for admission to the Direct PhD Programme. A research proposal consisting of approximately 1,000 words should accompany the application form keeping in mind the following points:
  • Specification of the broad field of study:
  • Introduction to the specific problem of interest (Current issues, importance and rationale for the study)
  • Research / Work experience in that area, if you have any.
  • Reading that you have done in this area of interest.
  • Objectives, methods and scope of the proposed study.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • As per Medical Council of India (MCI) Amendment Notification No. MCI-34 (1)/2010-Med/32962 dt 07.10.2010 a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology at the qualifying (10 + 2) Higher Secondary or equivalent examination for submitting application for Entrance Test. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology taken together in qualifying examination be 40 % instead of 50% as stated above and it would be applicable also for the candidates belonging to Other Backward Class for All India Category but not for the Tripura state Domicile category.
  • A candidate must have attained the age of 17 yrs on or before 31" December of the year of application. Date of birth as recorded in Pass certificate of 10TH standard / Madyamik / 10 + 2 Higher Secondary or equivalent Examination.

Qualification:
Candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in clause (2) regulation 4 of the Graduate Medical Education Regulation, 1997 of MCI and in addition must have come in the merit list prepared as a result of competitive entrance examination conducted by the Kerala Private Medical College Management Association by securing not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. In respect of candidates belonging to the Scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribes or other backward classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination be 40% instead of 50%.

Age:
Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on or before the 31st December, 2013.

The Print out of the completed Application thus obtained, duly signed and photo affixed along with relevant documents to be submitted with the application and DD for Rs.1,000/- towards application fee, are to be enclosed and sent to “The Controller of Examination, Kerala Private Medical College Management Association, Malabar Medical College Campus, Modakkallur: P.O, Atholi, Calicut – 673315”, so as to reach the same to the addressee before 4 pm on 15-05-2013 (Wednesday), by Hand Delivery / Registered Post / Speed Post.

Application fee of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) can be paid by way of Demand Draft (DD) drawn on a Nationalized / Scheduled Bank, in favour of ‘KPMCMA’ and payable at Calicut.
